Peter Bird had decided to top a new building at Little Wittenham with a square clock-tower and an ogival-shaped roof.

This was in mind during the annual visit to Edinburgh for the Festival, where there turned out to be quite a few such roof shapes to study with a borrowed camera and Ilford HP5 film.

A few years after the clock-tower was built, the group of photographs were put on the wall during the Aberdour Festival.

Things are looking up.
