Peter Ayley consciously sought broad and varied experience from the beginning of his formal education.

From being the best mathematics student in his year in Surrey, he studied architecture (BA in Architecture at Bristol University) then Environmental Design under John Miller (MA at the Royal College of Art) before later winning the very unique position as a sabbatical scholar studying historic building repair techniques (Scholar with the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings 1986).

Theatre work in London and continuous historic building work developed a natural skill for leading a team of consultants on complex projects which was continuously informed by an innate understanding of the nature of materials and processes, often achieved with hands-on experience.

This experience can be applied to mainstream architectural work, historic building conservation, product design and consultancy where something particular or out of the ordinary may be required.

He is fluent in French.
