This stone vault is in the church of the Holy Sepulchre in the small town of Torres del Rio, not far from Pamplona.

It lies on the 'French' pilgrimage route towards the relics of Saint James at Compostella, which is known to have been in existence in the ninth century.

The church is probably from the twelfth century with ribbed vaulting typical of islamic masons who would have been integrated into Spanish culture at the time.
